Founded in 1906 by Ivar, Tengbom is one of the oldest architectural firms in the industry and yet in 2016 was included in the four most innovative practices in the world.
The studio has 10 offices in Northern Europe and a total of 570 employees. In a very recent renovation of their Stockholm headquarters, the firm chose Artigo’s Loose Lay flooring, Nd/Uni LL in the U99 color, covering a total of 3250 sqm.
The workplace is exciting, for lack of a better word. With views over Stockholm bay and an attention to everyone’s thoughts. Quotes the firm: “We have 570 co-workers and equally as many thoughts as to what architecture should be”.
A renovation can change much more than the appearance of a workplace, particularly when designers are rethinking how different parts of the building work together. The Tengbom offices show how details such as flooring, layout, views, and materials can shape the experience of an updated space, but renovation work also means paying attention to the parts of a building that are less visible.
