The Commonwealth Bank of Australia's new head office, known as Axle at South Eveleigh, is a cutting-edge facility designed by Woods Bagot. It's situated in Sydney's new technology and innovation district, aiming to be a hub for the bank's digital future. This eight-story building embodies a modern workspace with a blend of historical elements from its site's railroad workshop origins. It's equipped to foster innovation among its 4,000 employees through a blend of advanced tools and creative spaces. The office design incorporates significant natural elements like biophilia, ample daylight, and outdoor terraces, emphasising a healthy, eco-friendly working environment. It targets the prestigious 6-Star Green Star and high NABERS Tenancy Energy ratings, reflecting its commitment to sustainability.

Spectrum Floors contributed to this visionary project by providing rubber flooring and entrance matting, chosen for its aesthetic qualities and environmental benefits. Our GECA-certified products ensure low VOC emissions, enhancing indoor air quality. The interior design promotes a tactile experience, moving away from traditional corporate setups. It features exposed concrete, wood details, and flexible, open spaces that encourage collaboration and spontaneous interactions. The layout includes diverse stairways and pathways to facilitate non-linear movement, simulating a miniature city within the office. This design strategy, coupled with integrated technology, supports various work modes from collaborative projects in café-style areas to private retreats, all while being manageable through a comprehensive smartphone app.
